Ipswich Community Gallery
Coming soon - Second Chance showcases a journey through life, culture and mental health education.
Through art, Boorrumpah Goupong Aboriginal Corporation tells their stores to provide a safe space for healing. Boorrumpah (Mount Flinders) means meeting place for Ugarapul Men's Business. Goupong means Frog, the Ugarapul totem. The Ugarapul Dreamtime story tells how the Frog and the Serpent made Ugarapul Country by putting up mountains for protection from storms and the elements. Just as the Frog and the Serpent formed the mountains as a form of protection, BGAC builds men’s mental health like mountains to weather life’s storms and mishaps.
